Jetpens arrival

Jetpens arrival

Some of these are new pens I ordered from jetpens.com. Jetpens sells pens and writing accessories from Asia that aren’t easily found (if available at all) in the US. I was very happy with my order and their customer service; I recommend them if you’re looking for unique writing stuff.

** Platinum Preppy: This is a disposable fountain pen available in various nib sizes and ink colors. It’s very popular because it’s cheap (about $2) and writes very well given its price. The blue-black ink is a nice tone. Can be refilled with cartridges.

** Pilot Envelope Pen – More or less a rollerball Sharpie. It lets out a wet, dark, bold line. Comes in EF, F, and B tips. Writes like a dream and was the surprise hit of my order from jetpens. I’m going to get more next time. $2

** Zebra Sarasa – Regular gel ink pens, green and brown ink. They write fine. $2.20

** Uni-Ball Signo RT – Has a 0.38mm fine tip, which ended up being too narrow for writing. $1.65

** Caran d’Ache – This is a ballpoint I got from a pen shop in KC, it was around $25 I think. Has a broad point and writes very smooth and bold. It got scratched up at the railroad, but it’s made out of metal so it will last forever.

** LAMY Al-Star & Safari – These are fountain pens. Safaris run about $25-$30 each and the aluminum Al-Stars are around $40. These take cartridges and bottled ink from a converter, and can have EF, F, M, B nibs as well as 1.1mm, 1.5mm, and 1.9mm caligraphy nibs.
